In addition to honoring inductees into the Hall of Fame, the Board of Directors is proud to sponsor an annual Seniors All-Star meet between northeast Iowa wrestlers and southeast Minnesota wrestlers. The annual 'Border Battle' in Cresco allows us to promote wrestling while paying tribute to high school wrestlers who excelled during four years of competition.
The boards of directors of the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame, located in Cresco, Iowa, have announced that on Friday, March 12th they will host the 9th annual Border Battle, featuring the top senior wrestlers from southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa. The "Border Battle" will take place in the Crestwood High School gym at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available at the door.
The Minnesota team will consist of senior wrestlers from school districts located in Mower, Fillmore or Houston counties. The Iowa team will consist of senior wrestlers from school districts located in Mitchell, Howard, Winneshiek or Allamakee counties. Rosters will be set following the state wrestling tournaments.
The board stated that its goals for this event are the overall promotion of wrestling, to give college coaches one last look at our areas finest grapplers, and to help support the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame.
